Wish there were some form of documentation here.

Where should I put this patch file? Should I download the complete file or the patch if I got WP 1.5?

Hi sam,

if you don’t know what todo with the patch file get the complete download. You can use the patch file if you have the original StatTraq and want to patch that version, you would do this using the patch in a terminal under linux or on the commandline under Windows.

First of all, great work! It’s nice to see what you’ve done for StatTraq. If you don’t mind, I have a bit of a request. I’ve been experiencing an error with StatTraq ever since I started using it with WP v1.2. Basically, I couldn’t use it with gzip compression enabled. If I did, I got this error on the main page: “ob_start(): output handler ‘ob_gzhandler’ cannot be used after ‘URL-Rewriter’”. Under WP v1.5, the error is now invisible, but really screws up validation (as it appears before the doctype). Apparently, wp-stats has a similar problem, and I ran by this post outlining it: http://wordpress.org/support/topic.php?id=1763&page=3#post-78108 . Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

StatTraq Best Statistics Plugin for Wordpress

Ho appena finito di installare e controllare il nuovo plugin per le statistiche del mio blog e sono molto soddisfatto della scelta.
StatTraq sembra essere ottimo, molto semplice da installare e molto completo nella visualizzazione di tutte le informazi…

MacManX, that problem can be solved by disabling persistent php sessions in the .htaccess file. I saw that in the WP forums, you just have to add a line in your .htaccess file. You lose persistent sessions for visitors that don’t allow cookies, but I haven’t had any complaints.

Thanks for this - after uninstalling the original stattraq I had installed, dropping the tables out the db, and then installing this version of it, I’ve finally been able to start logging individual post views instead of everything being logged as “multiple posts.” Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Hi,

no it’s not…
Well I haven’t tested it.
I would guess that Randy fixed these thing in 1.0b

I would like to thank you for sharing Stattraq 1.5. I’ve been struggling to get the 1.0b version working, with all sorts of hacks suggested for the past few days, to no avail. Unlike the previous versions, this one handles permalinks on my site correctly, and so now there are articles in the most frequently read articles list (I use the Most Wanted plugin with Stattraq). I had no idea that there was a later version until I searched Google today and came to your site.

[…] StatTraq is one of the better statistics for Wordpress blogs. Unfortunately Randy Peterman is no longer maintaining it, but Adsworth have patched a version which will run under Wordpress v1.5 and 2.0 as well as fixing a couple of bugs. […]

Hi,

I´m using wp-stattraq_1b in several blogs, and I recently noticed that Disable Login option is not working, checked or not, it does not require any login at all! and everybody can access /wp-stattraq, which we want to avoid.

I believe this option worked in old version of stattraq, but not in the last one (wp-stattraq_1b.zip). I searched at Randy’s blog, but unfortunately he´s not supporting stattraq anymore, and could´nt find any information about this issue there, that´s why I´m writing here, maybe anyone noticed this same problem? Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thank you very much, any help will be appreciated.

Hi Marta,

I had a look at the source, and if you are logged into the admin interface then wp-stattraq display the stats. If you log out of the admin interface then you’ll be displayed the login WordPress login screen.
